Seven members of the Governor Rotimi Akeredolu-led administration in Ondo state have resigned their positions in the government.
NAIJ.com gathered that the political appointees sent in their resignation letters to enable them contest in various primary elections next year.
The governor had ordered all political appointees in his government seeking elective positions to resign on or before Monday, September 17.

The governor's demand was made in a memo circulated to members of his cabinet on Friday, September 14.
Commissioner for women affairs and social welfare, Mrs. Omowumi Olatunji, leads the pack of those who resigned as she seeks to contest the Akure south/north federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
On his part, the commissioner for lands and housing, Donald Ojogo, obtained forms for to represent Ilaje/Eseodo federal constituency and the commissioner for commerce and industry, Otunba Timehin Adelegbe is seeking to represent Owo/Ose federal constituency.

Meanwhile, in Osun state, Adejare Bello, ex-Speaker of the state House of Assembly, has defected to the APC, barely a week to the September 22 governorship election.
Bello, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had on Monday, September 17 resigned his membership of the party.
In a letter addressed to Mr. Soji Adagunodo, the PDP state chairman, the former speaker said that he resigned his membership because the party has drifted from the ideals of its founding fathers.
