Rufus Bature, secretary to Plateau state government and Hitler Dadi, commissioner for special duties and intergovernmental relations, have resigned their appointments to contest in the 2019 elections.
A statement by Mark Longyen, senior special assistant to Governor Simon Lalong on media made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday, September 23, in Jos, announced their resignations.
According to the statement, Governor Lalong has approved their resignations to enable them to pursue their aspirations.

The statement said that Bature resigned his appointment to contest for Senate seat to represent Plateau North at the National Assembly.
Dadi is vying as a member, House of Representatives to represent Langtang North/Langtang South Constituency in the 2019 polls.
Lalong thanked the duo for their services to the state in general and his administration in particular.

The governor wished them well in their political aspirations and future endeavors. Meanwhile, the governor has approved the appointment of Richard Tokma to to serve as acting SSG.
Until his appointment, Tokma was the Permanent Secretary, Policy & General Services in the Office of the SSG.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the Plateau state Peoples Democratic Party constituted a five-man dialogue committee that will persuade the ten aspirants vying governorship seat under its platform.
The move was said to be expedient as the party needs to present a viable consensus candidate to compete with the incumbent governor of the state, Simeon Lalong of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The PDP zoned its governorhip ticket to Plateau south senatorial district where the incumbent governor comes from. It also notes that not less than eight other persons from the same zone are eyeing the number one stool in the state under the platform of the PDP.
