The Department of State Services (DSS) has been slammed with a N5bn lawsuit for unlawful detention and incapacitation by One Salihu Enesi, who said he has been in the custody of the secret police since 2015 without arraignment.
In the suit filled at the Federal High Court, Abuja, Enesi, is also asking for an unconditional release from DSS custody, The Sun reports.

The detainee who said he got injured following the shootings he suffered during the arrests has asked the court to among others, declare that his arrest and continued detention since the 28 of October 2015 by the secret police was is illegal, unlawful null and void.
He also prayed for the court to direct the DSS to immediately him on bail unconditionally.
Meanwhile, an administrator and members of a WhatsApp group have been arrested by the Kano state police command for allegedly circulating fake news and an image of a married woman whom they claimed was trafficking in children in the city.
The spokesperson for the command, Magaji Musa Maaji, told PR Nigeria that the suspects were arrested and paraded after the victim of the circulated image lodged a formal complaint to the police command.
Maaji said the fake reports about the victim was spread with the intent to incite the public against her.
