Osun governorship election: Octogenarian spotted during accreditation

The time has come for Osun state residents to decide who will govern them for the next four years, as one of the most anticipated governorship election holds today Saturday, September 22.

There is a high turnout of residents at many of the polling units visited across the state headed to vote in the governorship election.

Both the young and old are not left as an octogenarian was spotted during the accreditation of voters at Oyetola polling unit Iragbiji.

Although there are 48 parties and thus 48 governorship candidates cleared to contest for September 22 governorship election in Osun state, about five of them are expected to be the major contenders jostling for the 1,246,915 votes in the state.

In a previous report by NAIJ.com, former speaker of the House of Representatives, Patricia Etteh, has reportedly expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will emerge victorious in the Osun state governorship election on Saturday, September 22.

Etteh who spoke with The Nation from her Ikire home, said the party was 100% ready for the election. She, however, said it might not be a huge landslide victory for the ruling party.
