- Adamu claimed he is being probed to force him to accept Al-Makura's choice of governor for 2019

- The former governor added that Al-Makura is wasting taxpayers' money to probe him for fraud

The former governor of Nasarawa state, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has accused the incumbent governor, Tanko Al-Makura, of wasting taxpayers' money to probe him in other to intimidate him into silence in the party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Al-Makura had set up a 10-member committee to investigate the circumstances that led to the abandonment of the the N4.5 billion Farin-Ruwa independent power plant project during Adamu's administration.

Adamu, however, described the committee as a mismanagement and misplacement of the state resources.

He said: “Al-Makura’s decision to probe me is being carried out to see if I will be forced into accepting the abuse of democratic process enshrined in the constitution of our party, APC, in the process of selecting a governorship aspirant of the party for the 2019 elections.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com earlier reported that Tanko Al-Makura, revealed that he commenced a probe of his predecessor, Abdullahi Adamu, who is now a senator, because some of his activities were just unfolding.

Adamu, a key supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari in the Senate, currently represents Nasarawa west district on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The report quoted Al-Makura, who was screened in Abuja on Thursday, September 20, for a Senate seat, saying government is dynamic and some activities provoke other activities.
