Taraba governor warns APC to stay away from his state and Gombe

- The Taraba leader is confident that PDP will add more states to his and Gombe after the 2019 general elections

- The governor says he is contesting for re-election because his people appreciate his achievements

Taraba governor Darius Ishaku has warned the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to stay away from northern states Gombe and Taraba which are under the control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Nigerian Tribune reports that Ishaku the two states are no-go areas for the APC and other political parties in the 2019 general elections.

The governor was reported to have issued the warning shortly after he was screened as a PDP governorship aspirant for Taraba by the screening committee of the party at the Zonal Secretariat in Bauchi on Saturday, September 22.

Ishaku said the PDP is ready to win more states in the North-East geopolitical region because it has strong acceptance among the people there than the APC.

He expressed optimism that the PDP will spring electoral surprises in the North-East geopolitical region in the 2019 general elections.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported earlier that the screening process for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors/candidates in the south-south was held on Saturday, September 22 ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Governors Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta, Nyesome Wike of Rivers, Ben Ayade Cross River and Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom all participated in the process

NAIJ.com gathered that the screening was held at the PDP zonal office in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.
