39 parties adopt Atiku as their candidate ahead of 2019 elections

- 39 political parties are set to adopt Atiku Abubakar as their presidential candidate

- The parties are all under the coalition of the coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP)

Thirty-nine political parties under the aegis of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has announced their readiness to adopt the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary, Atiku Abubakar, as their candidate in the 2019 general elections.

Daily Trust reports that the parties under the umbrella of Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), led by the PDP said they would adopt him as consensus candidate for the election in order to dislodge President Muhammad Buhari in 2019.

The CUPP, in a statement issued late on Sunday, October 7, by its Spokesman, Ikenga Ugochinyere said the process of his adoption would start this week.

Former vice president,Atiku, won the PDP primary election to emerge as its presidential candidate for the 2019 presidential election in a 2-day national convention held in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that some youth leaders from the South- South geo-political zone, under the auspices of Niger Delta Coalition for Peace and Progress (NDCPP), congratulated Alhaji Atiku Abubakar over his victory at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential primaries.

The group, in a statement on Sunday signed by Charles Kalada Dan-Jumbo, however, urged the presidential hopeful to consider apologising to the geo-political zone over events leading to 2015 polls.
