5 things that happened in the Premier League last weekend

The week 7 round of matches in the Premier League were played across all centers in England over the weekend.

The leadership on the table changed hands following the decisive matches that took place in London and Manchester respectively.

The situation at the bottom of the log is not different as the three relegation-threatened sides remain winless.

Here are five things that occurred over the weekend in the Premier League

1. The clash of the titans ended deadlock

The Chelsea versus Liverpool match is so far the best match that has been played in the league this weekend.

Both sides showed why they are top contenders for this season's title as Eden Hazard and Daniel Sturiddge scored on either half of the match as the teams shared the spoils.

2. City back on top

The Citizens' 2-0 victory over Brighton have brought them on top of the league following goals from Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero.

Pep Guardiola's men are unbeaten this season and have continued to dominate the teams they have played so far, sending a note of warning to other Premier League sides.

3. Mourinho days are numbered

Manchester United's 3-1 loss to West Ham at the London Stadium signaled a premature end for the highly rated Portuguese gaffer.

United have now failed to win their last three matches on the bounce and could spell doom for the 55-year-old.

Reports have been ongoing Zinedine Zidane is have English lessons amid United's managerial speculation.

Mourinho must win his next two matches against Valencia in the Champions League and Newcastle in a league fixture at the St James' Park to keep his job at Old Trafford.

4. Arsenal gaining momentum

Unai Emery's side made it five wins out of five matches following their 2-0 victory over Watford at the Emirates.

The Gunners team are gradually getting into shape as they continued their impressive run after losing their first two matches to Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.

Javi Garcia's men have now dropped to sixth on the log as their impressive start to the new season is gradually losing grip.

5. Three bottom sides still winless

Newcastle, Huddersfield and Cardiff City are yet to win a match this season after losing to Leicester City, Tottenham and Burnley respectively.

Rafa Beitez's side face United in the next round of matches while Neil Warnock will be in search of his three points against Tottenham as well as Huddersfield, who need a win against Burnley.
