No fewer than five governorship aspirants in Ogun have claimed they received death threats over their ambition to rule the state ahead of the primaries.
TVC News reports that the quintet of Sefiu Kaka, Bimbo Ashiru, Dapo Abiodun, Abayomi Hunyen and Jimi Lawal raised the alarm.
The report said they called on security agencies to investigate the alleged intimidation, harassment and threat to life they have been subjected to.

This followed the kidnapping of Semiu Akintade at Olorunda ward in Abeokuta north local government area.
The aspirants the duo of Akeem Adeosun and Taoreed Fakanbi of being allegedly behind the security concerns that they have been having.
But the police through its spokesperson in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, assured that the security outfit will continue to be apolitical and ensure protection of lives and property.
NAIJ.com had reported that the choosing of APC's flagbearer in the Ogun governorship election in 2019 was delayed on Sunday, September 30 after the exercise was postponed by the state chapter.
It was learnt that the state chapter of the APC did not give any reason for this decision.

A statement was issued by the state publicity secretary of the party, Chief Wole Elegbede, who earlier told members of his party to disregard the rumour making the rounds that the primary election would no longer hold.
The report said the second statement by Elegbede at exactly 1:53 pm did not state when the governorship primary would now hold.
