The outgoing Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, who left the state on Sunday afternoon, October 14, promised to continually be by the side of the people of the state.
The Punch reports that Fayose made this known during a thanksgiving service held in his honour at the Government House chapel after which he traveled out of the state.
The outgoing governor embarked on a ‘Thank you walk’ around major streets of Ado Ekiti where he received accolades from traders, artisans and other residents of the state.

It was learnt that residents of the state trooped out and lined up the streets to bid him farewell en route the Akure Airport, Ondo state, where he had to catch a flight.
The second term of the governor ends midnight of Monday, October 15, while he has a date to keep with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Earlier at a thanksgiving held in his honour at the Government’s House chapel, Fayose, in an emotion laden voice, thanked the people for their support while he was in office.
He told the people that he would always be with them, urging them to trust in God for a better future for him and the state.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the governor-elect for Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi, said he had learned a lot from his past administration adding that during the first term, he felt his work should speak for him but it was a tough lesson.
Kayode Fayemi said he was not discouraged because he wouldn’t have gone into the recent governorship race he wasn’t sure of eventual victory.
According to him, ''During the first term, we felt our work should speak for us but we learned a tough lesson. Now, we would speak at every opportunity about our deeds.
''Not really. I wouldn’t have gone into the race if I wasn’t sure of eventual victory. But I knew there were going to be several hoops to jump on the journey.''
