A suspected kidnapper pretending to be mentally ill, identified as Dele, was nabbed by officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) in Isikan, Akure, Oyo state after residents suspected he has a mobile phone.
The suspect reportedly received a credit alert of N1.5million on his mobile phone few minutes after he was nabbed which reinforced the residents' suspicion.
On seeing th alert on his mobile phone, the suspects reportedly snatched the phone from an official of the NSCDC and smashed it on the floor to destroy the evidence.
Tribune reports that the commandant of the NSCDC in the state, Pedro Awili, while speaking on the arrest, said the suspect was arrested after days of surveillance by the men of the NSCDC.
According to him, the suspect identified as Dele has been pretending to be a madman for some weeks and was suspected to be a kidnapper.

He explained that: “Our QRS team on October 15 arrested one Dele who is pretending to be a madman at Isikan area of Akure with a phone in his pocket.
“When our men arrested him and checked the mobile phone found on him, after some few minutes he got an alert of N1.5million payment into his account.
“Immediately the alert entered he forcefully collected the mobile phone and smashed it on the floor, damaging the phone.
“We are going to repair the mobile phone to know and ascertain the person that sent the money to him and the persons who his working for.”

NAIJ.com earlier reported that a suspected ritualist identified as Hu-El Mustapha Al-Musta was recently caught in Rivers state.
Reports reaching NAIJ.com reveal that he disguised as a mad man and made his way into a community on September 26, to do his bidding.
He was however spotted by residents of the area and beaten to a pulp. Reports reveal that the supposed mad man was found with a wallet containing N3,500, a snake, car key, voters' card, a court affidavit and sweets with no clear indication what his plan was.
