Former spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bolaji Abdullahi and 7 others have pulled out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary in Kwara state, The Cable reports.
The other PDP aspirants who have withdrawn from the exercise include Ali Ahmad, Saka Isau, Ladi Hassan, Ibrahim Kaia, Abubakar Anani, Zakari Mohammed and Ahman Pategi.
The gubernatorial race is now between Razak Atunwa, a federal lawmaker from Kwara central, and Sha’aba Lafiagi, a senator representing Kwara north.

All the aspirants except Abdullahi announced their withdrawal at the venue of the primary.
A source told TheCable: “Yes, he was asked to step down, he has been put on pressure since yesterday.”
The Kwara state governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed said the eight aspirants withdrew from the race in the party’s interest and thanked them for their act of magnanimity.
“I thank the state’s political leader, Dr Bukola Saraki for his wise counselling and purposeful leadership which have so far kept members of the PDP united in Kwara state,” he said.
In a previous report by NAIJ.com, the former spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bolaji Abdullahi, had disclosed his interest in the Kwara state governorship seat.
He made the intention known in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, on Thursday, August 23, when he received friends and family at his residence for the Sallah festivities.
Abdullahi said he wants to make a difference in Kwara; and that is why he is seeking the governorship seat.
