The club reportedly spent £142 million on new players in the summer including Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Jordan Pickford, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Wayne Rooney.
Despite the investment, the club has made its third-worst start to a Premier League campaign.
The loss at Goodison Park on Sunday was Everton's fifth consecutive match without a victory, with the Toffees having won just two league games this season.

Koeman becomes the third manager sacked this season after Frank De Boer at Crystal Palace and Craig Shakespeare at Leicester City.
Already linked to the vacant post are former boss David Moyes, Burnley's Sean Dyche and Sam Allardyce, most recently at Crystal Palace.
