There was jubilation among supporters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) late Saturday, November 18, as the interim national secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ben Obi, lost his ward in the Anambra governorship election.
Daily Sun reports that APGA won in the four polling units of the ward with 193 against the votes of the All Progressives Congress (APC) put at 112 and PDP with 107.

The report said immediately after he cast his vote, Sen Obi, expressed mixed feelings about the incumbency factor taking over even though the PDP had done its best.
“I have been receiving reactions from the state by virtue of my position as the national secretary of the party and it has been very successful so far.
“It has been encouraging. I am impressed with the idea of accrediting and voting immediately by the INEC.
“From the reports, it has been orderly so far regarding the voting exercise. There has been no problem.
“PDP has gone very well in its campaign and you know that it has been searching for power since 2003.

“The party has good candidate and it is a party on ground but we are faced with the incumbency factor. We recognized that but it may not count because PDP lost election even with power of incumbency,” he said.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that APGA, through its national chairman, Victor Oye, said it is not comfortable with the alleged malfunctioning of several card readers used for governorship election in Anambra by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday, November 18.
