Lionel Messi's wedding this summer might have dominated the headlines but there were others including two Super Eagles stars who tied the knots in 2017.
Due to the strict football calender, many footballers never get married during the football season but rather do so during the summer.
Here are seven footballers who got married this summer;
1. Leo Messi
La Pulga's wedding to childhood sweetheart Antonella Roccuzzo was dubbed the wedding of the century in South America. The wedding was held at at a luxury hotel in Sante Fe, Argentina.

2. Manuel Neuer
The German shotstopper tied the knot with his stunning partner Nina Weiss wearing clutches in June.

3. Granit Xhaka
The Arsenal man had a rather lowkey wedding to his long-term girlfriend Leonita Lekaj in July after helping the Gunners win the FA Cup.

4. Phil Jones
After years of being together, Jones married Kaya Hall in Nether Alderley, Cheshire, on Friday, 16 June. Manchester United stars like Chris Smalling and former teammates like Danny Welbeck and Wayne Rooney were in attendance.

5. Chris Smalling
The defender married stunning model Sam Cooke in Lake Como, Italy in a week when he became the third Manchester United star to do so after Matteo Darmian and Phil Jones.

6. Alvaro Morata
The striker tied the knot with Alice Campello, just before his transfer to Chelsea in the summer.

7. Victor Moses
The Super Eagles man had a very lowkey wedding where pictures were hard to come by. He married Josephine the mother of his two children less than 24-hours after Arsenal defeated Chelsea in the FA Cup final on May 27.

8. Ahmed Musa
Musa married new wife Juliet Adeh in a registry in Nigeria in May, few months after seperating from his former wife and mother of his children Jamila.

9. Mateo Kovacic and Lucas Vasquez
The two Real Madrid stars got married 24 hours after Alvaro Morata's wedding. The timing of the wedding is believed to be no coincidence as the trio planned it that way following a double-title winning season.

10. Antoine Griezmann
The Frenchman who will join Manchester United or Barcelona next summer married Eriks Choparena in secret in May.

Manchester City and Belgian superstar Kevin De Bruyne officially tied the knot with his long - term girlfriend Michele Lacroix in the summer after the 2016/2017 season.
