CAF announce Oshuola and two others in final 3 shortlist of African Women footballer of the year(Photos)

-The final three shortlist for the Africa Women’s Player of the Year 2017 has been revealed

- The nominees are Asisat Oshoala, Chrestina Kgatlana and Gabrielle Onguene

- The award will be held on January 4, 2018 in Accra, Ghana

The final three shortlist of the CAF Aiteo awards for the female player oft the year has been released.

CAF initially released a five man shortlist but now it has been narrowed down to three with the Current holder Asisat Oshuola making the list.

The other two players on the list are South African Chrestina Kgatlana and Camerionian Gabrielle Onguene.

Azizat Oshuola- Nigeria/Dalian Quanjian

The reigning Africa Women’s Player of the Year gets her third nomination in four years.

In 2017, the Super Falcons star clinched a double in her first season with Chinese topflight side Dalian Quanjian.

She finished as the league’s top scorer with 12 goals in addition to bagging the league and cup titles.

Christina Kgatlana – South Africa/UWC Ladies

One of South Africa’s brightest rising strikers, Kgatlana was a key player in Banyana Banyana’s COSAFA Women’s Championship win.

She was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the championship en route to clinching the title.

Kgatlana was also USSA Football and UWC’s Player of the Year and top scorer.

Gabrielle Onguene – Cameroon/CSKVA Moskva

The Cameroonian forward gets the nod for the third year in a row, Onguene clinched the 2017 Russian Women’s Cup with CSKA Moskva.

She also finished as the Russian topflight league’s third top scorer in the just-ended 2017 season with 11 goals in 14 matches.
