- The winner will be announced by CAF on January 4, 2018 in Accra, Ghana
African football governing body (CAF) have released names of three finalists that will fight for the 2017 coach of the year award.
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr made the final three shortlist and the German achieved that after helping the Super Eagles to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup which will hold in Russia.
Former Argentine footballer Hector Cuper also made the final three after helping the Pharaohs of Egypt to qualify for the 2018 World Cup after waiting for 27 years.
The third coach on the list is a Moroccan former footballer and current coach of Wydad Casablanca Hussein Amotta.
It is expected that the winner of this category will be between Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr and handler of the Egyptian team Hector Cuper.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will announce the winner of January 4, 2018 in Acrra, Ghana.
