How much does NNPC pay its workers?

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation is a very desirable company for many Nigerians. But does it pay well? What is the average NNPC salary? Continue reading to learn about the salary of NNPC workers.

NNPC salary scheme

NNPC salary

To be honest, NNPC does not seem to be very eager to share their salary scheme with the world. There is no word about the salaries on their official website, and it is very hard to find any reliable information on this subject elsewhere.

All we could find were the reported salaries of NNPC workers on the website called Glassdoor. It is a reliable source of information about various companies and employers. That said, it only had salaries for three job positions at NNPC, as you can see from the screenshot below.

If this information is to be believed (we do not know how old it might be), then the monthly salary of an intern at NNPC is from ₦13,000 to 14,000. This is quite low, but we suspect that this position is mostly geared towards students who are looking for some work experience while they are still in school. We reckon the salary of NNPC staff fresh graduate should be much higher.

For instance, a sales manager at NNPC typically earns between ₦286,000 and 314,000 per month. Now, we do not know if fresh graduates are accepted into this position, but it is a significant step-up from the intern’s salary, don’t you think?

Now, it is not exactly clear whether the salary of an economist at NNPC is ₦3,590,000 - 3,880,000 per month or per year. But judging by the rest of the information presented on the website, we think that it is probably per year. However, it would be great if it were per month, wouldn't it?

Keep in mind that this is not official information. The real situation might be completely different from what we have shown you. But now that you know a little bit more about the salaries at NNPC, take a moment to find out more about the company itself and whether it is currently hiring.

NNPC recruitment

NNPC recruitment

If you have gotten excited about how much NNPC employees earn, we have some bad news for you. Unfortunately, there are no NNPC Nigeria vacancies at the moment. In fact, NNPC has not been hiring for quite a while now.

Moreover, the company has warned Nigerians countless times about the fraudsters who claim that NNPC is recruiting. If you encounter any persons inviting you to work at NNPC, even though the NNPC website says that they are not hiring at the moment, report the fraudsters immediately! Do not accept their invitations or, God forbid, sign any contracts or pay them.

As soon as there is a vacancy at NNPC, you can find out about it from their website (nnpcgroup.com/careers/careersnnpc.aspx), their Facebook (facebook.com/NNPCgroup) or Twitter (twitter.com/NNPCgroup). Disregard any other sources, as they might be fake.
