It is no news that Super Eagles technical adviser Gernot Rohr has released a provisional 28-man list that will execute the double friendly tie between Serbia and Poland.
As usual, the regular suspect in the Eagles lineup - the likes of Mikel Obi, Odion Ighalo, Kelechi Iheanacho, Iwobi all made the list.
However, they have been some Nigeria players that have stood out in recent times having been in fine form for their clubs and somehow managed not to have done enough to impress Rohr.
Today at NAIJ.com we will be taking a look five players that should have made the Super Eagles friendly list against Poland and Serbia.
1. Brown Ideye:

The Malaga front-man do enjoy decent performances anytime he features for his new side. He got his first Malaga goal in the 1 - 2 defeat to Valencia.
Though he has since not scored again, Ideye is not new to the Super Eagles and there is a huge believe that he will not waste too much time adjusting to the tactics of Rohr.
2. Sadiq Umar:

The AS Roma loanee has proven to force to reckon with in the Dutch league with his side Nac Breda scoring three goals in his last five games for them.

Umar might not have played for the Super Eagles before and a friendly call up would have made a perfect start in the Eagles shirt for the 21-year-old.
3. Taiwo Awoniyi :

Taiwo Awoniyi is not a new name when it come to Nigerian football having grown through the ranks from winning the under 17 FIFA World Cup to participating in the U20 World Cup and participating in the U23 Nations Cup.
Sadly for the young Liverpool striker he has not made his Eagles debut - considering his fine form that has seen him scored seven goals for his loan side Royal Excel Mouscron. We were expecting him to make the 28-man-list, but Rohr was thinking otherwise.
4. Austine Ejide:

Considering the goalkeeping worries of the Super Eagles in recent times, we were actually expecting Rohr to invite Austine Ejide for the friendly games against Poland and Serbia - why? There are worries in the goalkeeping department of the Super Eagles also there Ejide is very experience as a Nigerian goalkeeper.

5. Joseph Akpala:

Joseph Akpala is considered a veteran in Belgian football as he had played for various top teams in the country. But that's not why he is in our list today.
