- Nnanna Nze, an aide to deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremadu, has said that his boss' political profile is growing despite alleged intimidation by the federal government

- Ekweremadu's residence in Abuja, was on July 24, blocked by some security agents

- Nze, however, noted that Ekweremadu would not yield to the machinations of the government

A senior special assistant to deputy Senate president, Nnanna Nze, has said that acts of intimidation allegedly being unleashed on his principal, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, by the federal government agencies are growing his profile instead of diminishing his status.

Vanguard reports that he said that the tactics of the siege, anti-graft invitations and other coercive methods employed to make Ekweremadu yield to the machinations of the APC-led federal government were like examinations set to test one’s competence for higher classes.

NAIJ.com gathered that Nze asked the agencies being used as tools, to reconsider their methods of operation and allow the rule of law to apply like in every decent democracy.

He made the remarks when he donated a PDP's campaign office for Ekweremadu, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and House of Representatives member, Toby Okechukwu in Enugu ahead of 2019 general elections.

Nze, a former chairman of Awgu local government area said he had to donate the campaign office because Ekweremadu and Ugwuanyi work in synergy, complementing each other in infrastructure development and human empowerment of the people of Enugu state.

He said: “The governor is doing a lot of interesting empowerments in the state. The same goes to Ekweremadu who attracted the ongoing N16 billion Agwu ring road.

"The same thing is going on in all parts of Enugu west and one good thing is that the state government queues into these projects and that’s why I decided to donate a PDP campaign headquarters for the whole of Enugu west senatorial district.
