- Reports claim the American boxer was not paid enough money to step in the ring to fight
American Boxer Curtis Harper stunningly walked out of the ring at the opening bell of his fight with Nigeria's Efe Ajagba.
The 30-year-old was due to take on the Nigerian Olympic boxer in as six-round bout in Minneapolis on Friday night.
Both fighters made their way into the ring, took instructions from the referee and touched gloves ahead of the first round.
But as soon as the final bell rang, Harper stunned the watching fans and his opponent by deciding to leave the ring.

Harper walked down the steps, up the ramp and out of the arena as his heayyweight opponent Ajagba looked on puzzled, .
Ajagba was ruled the winner via disqualification at one second of the opening round.
Harper was alleged to have told reporters he was not getting enough pay, or receiving enough respect, to go into the ring.
Ajagba's promoter, Richard Schaefer, saw it differently though and feels Harper simply feared the Olympian.

"We waited a long time to have another heavyweight who instills fear in his opponents by just being in the ring and looking at them," Richard Schaefer said.
"The last time a fighter instilled that kind of fear in an opponent was Mike Tyson. The heavyweight division has a new star, and his name is Efe. No doubt that he is the biggest puncher in the sport.
"He defined what the most feared man in boxing means -- no punch necessary. A look and the opponent runs, runs out of the ring."
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Nigeria's sole boxer at the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympics Efe Ajagba has crashed out of the Games.
The 22-year-old lost his quarter-final bout to Kazakhstan's Ivan Dychko by unanimous decision in the Super Heavyweight 91kg category.
