Chelsea defender David Luiz has confirmed that he had a rift with former Blues' manager Antonio Conte and stressed that he would have left the club if the Italian had stayed.

Last season, David Luiz was said to have had a serious bust up in training with Antonio Conte in which made the Brazilian to play only 10 Premier League games.

But this season, the former PSG star has found favors in the eyes of new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri and has played in the Blues' first two games of the season.

When asked about his summer of transfer speculation, Luiz said: “If the manager had stayed the same, of course, everybody knows maybe I would have had to move club.

“Now I’m here and so happy,'' David Luiz said according to UK Sun.

Meanwhile, David Luiz is expected to be in the Blues' starting lineup for their next Premier League game against Newcastle United.
