2019: It will be easy for PDP to defeat Buhari if I am made a presidential candidate - Sule Lamido

- Sule Lamido declares himself as the best aspirant in the PDP to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019

- Lamido, a former governor of Jigawa, wants the leadership of the PDP to reward faithful members of the party

- He also accuses the APC of thriving on lies

Ahead of the 2019 presidential election, a former governor of Jigawa state and current contender for the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sule Lamido, has described himself as the best candidate to beat President Muhammadu Buhari.

NAIJ.com reports that Lamido is contesting for the ticket of the PDP with several other aspirants.

Daily Trust reports that Lamido said this on Friday while addressing the Nasarawa State Working Committee (SWC) of the party in Lafia.

The report quoted Lamido as saying since he is also from the north, he has more to offer to reposition the country than President Buhari.

He further noted that he had served the party and the country in various capacities and as a result, understood the challenges and solutions.

The former governor also called on the leadership of the PDP to reward faithful members ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The report said Lamido, who also spoke in Makurdi, Benue state same Friday, August 31, slammed the All Progressives Congress (APC) for allegedly thriving on falsehood and demonising perceived opposition.

Lamido visited Governor Samuel Ortom, who recently defected to the PDP as well as other members of the party as he continued with consultations for his 2019 presidential ambition.

He also said he supports the restructuring of Nigeria.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that a former governor of Kano state and presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, reportedly said he would remain in the party and work for its success even if he lost the party's presidential primary.
