Science, over the time, has proved to us that they can easily get into human’s body and attack the fighter-soldiers in the body called anti-bodies, thereby creating different kind of discomfort, fatigue and diseases.

These organisms are scientifically called pathogens. The diseases caused by them (the pathogens) are commonly referred to as pathogenic diseases.

1. Origin of the word pathogens

Pathogen, as explained in biology (a field that deals with the study of lives of both animals and plants), is a term that came to being in the 1880. This era is said to be the renaissance of modern revolution in the field of sciences and technological advancement.

2. Pathogens are disease-carrying agents

As earlier noted, pathogens are agents that can transmit diseases and displeasure into the body of both man and animal. Science has also proved that the operation of pathogens is not limited to animals alone. Plants are also living things. They exhibit all the characteristics of living things like respiration, reproduction, etc. Thus, they are vulnerable to diseases carried by pathogens.

3. Pathogens are bacteria, virus and fungi.

Words like fungi, virus and bacteria are familiar. But what many don't know is that as familiar as they are, so dangerous and harmful they can be. They are pathogens causing various ailments in the bodies. Bacteria and virus cause diseases in animal while unlike these two, fungi mainly causes diseases in crops and other plants. However, recent researches record that it can cause diseases in humans too.

4. Pathogenic diseases are transmittable

Scientific research explains that diseases caused by pathogens such as bacterial infection like Gonorrhea can be transmitted from one person to another through body contacts.

5. Pathogens' mode of operation

Pathogens operate by attacking the body’s tissues directly. Sometimes, they cause damage by secreting toxins—that is, a poisonous substance that causes discomfort in the body. When they are able to gain access, in a few minutes they recreate themselves into millions, leading to serious body discomfort.

6. Treatment of pathogenic diseases

Infections caused by bacteria pathogens are treated using substances called antibiotics. Antibiotics are specially recommended because they vary in level of performance. They are used following the instructions of physicians or health experts.

7. How pathogens enter the body system

Pathogens get access into the body through different routes such as air, direct or indirect contact, blood, water, insect bites or any other means.

Meanwhile, it’s advisable to consult one’s doctor when one perceives discomfort in the body. This will help prevent the severity of pathogenic diseases in the blood stream and body system.
