Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been crowned the UEFA Champions League best player of the week after his superb display for his side on match day 1.
The Argentine forward powered his side to a 4-0 victory over Dutch League giants PSV Eindhoven in their UCL Group B opener on Tuesday, September 18.
He beat Manchester United captain Paul Pogba (2 goals), Liverpool's James Milner (1 goal) and Lyon's Nabil Fekir to win the prestigious award.
The 31-year-old star grabbed his first hatrick of the competition as the Camp Nou outfit continued their impressive start to the start of the season
