Former Senate president and presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator David Mark on Wednesday, September 20, promised to turn around Nigeria’s economy if elected president in 2019.

Leadership reports that the former minister of communications while speaking at a meeting with delegates and stakeholders in Ibadan, declared that the only alternative party ready to change the change agenda of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which some Nigerians have complained of is the PDP.

NAIJ.com gathered that he said the PDP is the better option and it is ready to change the change for better.

“The PDP is a better option and we are ready to change the change for a better Nigeria. The ruling party, APC used the change mantra to deceive the people of Nigeria, but now, I can tell you that the PDP is set to change the change for a better Nigeria,” he said.

He added that PDP was the only better option to change the change of APC.

Mark who declared that he would not leave the PDP even if he lost the primaries to any of the aspirants, said: “the PDP is a better option and we are ready to change the change for a better Nigeria.”

He said he welcomes innovation but such must be anchored on the general interest of the people.

Mark added: “I am contesting the Presidential election because I can make a positive difference for the good of the nation”.

"The Presidential hopeful said he has designed an economic blueprint that would turn around the nation’s ailing economy within two years of his administration if elected. His proposed economic model he termed “Project 730” would be anchored by young professionals selected from all parts of the country.

“I have something to offer. My programme would be premised on our unity, stability and prosperity of our nation. My word is my bond. I am here in Ibadan to declare my ambition to run for Nigerian president under our able party, PDP, and I am ready to team up with whoever emerges as the flag bearer of the party.

“I want to say that I am the last man standing among the thirteen PDP aspirants, and I promise to change all the sectors and ministries in Nigeria for the betterment of our people.’’

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that David Mark, a former president of the Senate and current aspirant for the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2019 election, has promised to change Nigeria’s economy in two years if elected.
