European Champions Real Madrid began the defence of their Champions League title as they recorded a comfortable 3-0 over Roma.
Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos all missed their chances in the opening 26 minutes of the match.
However, Spain international Isco Alacron curled in a brilliant free-kick just on the stroke of half time to put Los Blancos ahead by 1-0.
Madrid's second was from a brilliant counter-attacking move as Luka Modric delivered a telegraph pass to Bale who made no mistake with the finish as he made it 2-0.

Marco Asensio narrowly missed a goal in what would have been a contender for goal of the Champions League as the Spaniard made a brilliant turn in the box but a timely save by Robin Olsen denied the youngster.

The champions wrapped up an impressive display with a superb goal from new signing Mariano Diaz in the 90th minute as it ended 3-0.
In the other Group G match, Russian side CSKA Moscow came two-goals down to draw 2-2 away to Czech Republic side Viktoria Plzen.
Real topped the group as the Spanish giants will be away to CSKA Moscow in the next round of Champions League action on Tuesday, October, 2.
