Shawn Smith, a young mentally challenged man has confessed to killing his 4-year-old brother. The 20-year-old man had reportedly thrown his brother off a seven story high building.

The young man reportedly suffers from schizophrenia, a mental disorder that causes delusions, hallucinations and lack of motivation. It also causes the person to have trouble thinking and concentrating.

It was reported that Smith had immediately gone to the New York police after he threw his brother off the building. He had confessed to committing the crime.

Smith took the police to the scene of the crime, where his brother's body laid at Midwood courtyard in Brooklyn, on Saturday, September 29.

The 20-year-old had confessed to his family that the voices had told him to do what he did to his brother.

According to DailyMail, before the tragic incident, the young mentally challenged man had been hospitalized for three weeks after a mental health episode. It was gathered that he had stopped taken his prescribed tablets a few days before killing his brother.
