Real Madrid set to offer Ronaldo a new contract that will make him be on level terms with Messi

- Real Madrid are said to be considering offering Ronaldo a new deal at the end of the season

- The former Manchester United star has scored 17 goals in 12 games in the year 2018

Cristiano Ronaldo's superb form this season is now said to be persuading Real Madrid chiefs to offer the Portuguese international a new contract at the end of the season.

Although the former Manchester United star started the season unimpressive as he scored only two goals in the first four months.

The 33-year-old has now found his superb rhythm scoring 17 goals in 12 appearances in 2018 for the Spanish champions.

However, Mundo Deportivo report that Ronaldo's blistering return to form in 2018 is forcing the club to cave and pay him what he has demanded.

Ronaldo currently earns around £540,000-a-week, but wants parity with eternal rival Lionel Messi who is paid £680,000 every seven days by Barcelona.

Real Madrid have been sent out of the Copa del Rey and they have limited or no chance of defending their Spanish La Liga title this season.

Their only hope of lifting a title is now in the Champions League and they have reached the last 8 of the 2017/18 edition.

Previously, NAIJ.com had reported how Spanish champions Real Madrid qualified for the quarter final of this season's UEFA Champions League after beating PSG 2-1 on Tuesday night, March 6.

Real Madrid who are the current Champions League holders had defeated Paris-Saint-Germain 3-1 in the first leg at the Bernabeu and therefore qualified for the last 8 on 5-2 aggregate.

Paris-saint-Germain missed the service of their superstar Neymar who got injured last week, and the Brazilian will now have to wait for another year to have any hope of winning the Champions League with the French club.
